Code of Conduct

What is the Code of Conduct?

This Code of Conduct defines the expected standards of behaviour that all participants should conform to during any Blu Wild expedition. All trip participants are made aware of this code of conduct and any specific standards of behaviour necessary to comply prior to embarking upon any trip, for example, the rules of any partner organisations and where relevant, cultural expectations. Violations of the Code of Conduct may lead to a participant being removed without refund from the expedition.

BLU WILD CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Expedition participants will comply with all laws of the country visited. Participants will also comply with local rules and regulations.

  • Expedition participants will comply with all health and safety policies and procedures, including those of any partner organisation, for example a dive operator, in order to minimise risk of accident / injury.

  • Expedition participants will respect the social and cultural beliefs of both the expedition country and their fellow trip participants. This includes modesty in dress if required by local customs or religious observance. Participants will respect differences of opinion by acknowledging the other person’s stance and not pushing the acceptance of their own. Blu Wild expeditions has an absolute zero-tolerance policy to racism in any form.

  • Expedition participants will interact with wildlife in a responsible manner. Blu Wild prides itself on eco-conscious, low-impact expeditions - and the best way to protect the animals we view every day is to interact responsibly. Each location will therefore have a specific local set of rules to follow to ensure the wildlife is preserved and our guests are safe. Expedition participants will also follow these standardised rules that should apply everywhere:

    • Give animals the right of way

    • No harassment / chasing

    • No removal of coral, wildlife or other objects of biological interest from the ocean

    • No touching (unless strictly essential for safety, e.g. redirecting a shark or strong currents)

    • No littering

  • If drinking alcohol, expedition participants will do so responsibly and within the boundaries of local laws and customs. Blu Wild has a zero-tolerance policy to drinking-and-diving. Many of the areas we operate in are very remote, so for safety reasons, if scuba diving, expedition participants will not be allowed to join a dive if they are found to have been drinking prior to the dive or are visibly hungover.

  • Expedition participants will be informed of the sexual harassment policies and reporting procedures prior to embarking on the trip. Blu Wild has an absolute zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment. Any instances of sexual harassment will lead to a participant being removed without refund from the expedition.

  • Expedition participants will keep the expedition leader informed of whereabouts and will keep in contact with the expedition leader in the event of an emergency situation, so that the expedition leader can confirm you are safe.

  • Expedition participants will conduct themselves in a friendly and positive manner. Blu Wild preaches friendship and collaboration above all else, and we expect our participants to extend kindness to all others.

  • If expedition participants have concerns about any aspect of the expedition, these concerns will be voiced immediately to the expedition leader so that these might be dealt with quickly and effectively by the Blu Wild team.

  • Expedition participants will not behave in a way that will damage the reputation of Blu Wild either within the local community, nor within the online space.
